MOLASSES COOKIES
1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening (lard or oleo or Crisco or some of each)
2 eggs
1 cup molasses (1/2 cup light and ½ cup dark)
2 Tsp. Cream of Tartar
4 Tsp. soda
1 cup buttermilk
2 Tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
2 Tsp. ginger
5 ½ cups flour
Refrigerator 4 or 5 hours or overnight
Roll out
Bake at 375 degrees for 8 or 9 minutes
