HOW TO COOK CHOCOLATE CAKE

CHOCOLATE CAKE

 

Makes 150 – 2” x 2” servings.                                                                                    Bake in 375° oven.

 

 

INGREDIENTS

Flour 3 lbs. 3 qts. (or 12 cups)  
Cocoa ½ lb. 2 cups  
Baking powder   4 tsps.  
Soda   4 tsps.  
Salt   4 tsps.  
Shell eggs **   6  
Buttermilk   1 qt. (or 4 cups)  
Oil or melted butter 2 lbs. 1 qt. (or 4 cups)  
Vanilla   4 tsps.  
Boiling water   3 cups  
Sugar 4 lbs. 2 qts. (or 8 cups)  

 

**        1 cup sifted dried eggs and 1 cup water may be substituted for 6 shell eggs.

 

 

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Mix all dry ingredients at low speed for 3 minutes.
  2. Add buttermilk, oil or melted butter, and vanilla; add boiling water last; Mix.
  3. Bake at 375° F. for 30 minutes or until done and brown.
